Für Games und mehr: Adobe stellt "Director 11.5" vor

Wer es immer noch nicht glaubt, dass es Macromedias "Director" auch nach Übernahme durch Adobe Systems immer noch gibt, der sollte sich diese Nachricht genauer anschauen: Adobe stellt auf der "Game Developer Conference" in San Francisco seine Authoring-Software "Director 11.5" vor. Jetzt mit neuer Audio-Engine für 5.1 Sound und Realtime-Mixing, HD-Video (inklusive H.264 und RTMP-Streaming), "Advanced 3D" (d.h. Import aus "Google SketchUp" und "SketchUp 3-D Importer") und "Advanced Physics" (mit der "PhysX" Engine von Nvidia zur Simulation von Gravität und anderen Real-Life-Effekten), sowie Leopard-Unterstützung auf dem Mac. Director 11.5 kann dank "Shockwave Player"-Plug-in auch im Browser abgespielt werden und wird mittlerweile primär für ausgefeilte Online-Spiele eingesetzt. Das Windows- und Mac-Tool soll Ende März für 1000 US-Dollar (Update: 300 US-Dollar) auf den Markt kommen.
