Web-Tools for the rest of us: Karelia veröffentlicht erste "Public Beta" von "Sandvox"

Das Tool nutzt Apples "Safari Webkit", um Seiten in WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get)-Manier zusammenzubasteln, ohne eine einzige Zeile HTML oder CSS verstehen zu müssen (wir berichteten).

Dazu Terrence Talbot und Dan Wood von Karelia Software:

"Last week, rumors started circulating that Apple was going to announce a new application called "iWeb." As far as we know, these rumors could be true, and unfortunately, the program may end up being a competitor to Sandvox.

Here at Karelia, we're used to having Apple on our heels — our new logo actually plays homage to that. We didn't really expect lightning to strike twice in the same place! But just in case Apple does release 'iWeb' and it is indeed a website builder, we thought that we should let the Macintosh world see what we've been up to, even if we are not quite ready for a version 1.0 release.

So instead of just putting some screenshots of Sandvox online, as we had originally planned for this week, we have reacted quickly, and have decided to release Sandvox, as a Public Beta, today. It still has plenty of kinks to work out, as you know by being a beta-tester (Thanks for all your help so far!), but it's close enough to done that we think people will see its potential."

Wenn heute "iWeb" vorgestellt werden sollte, dann haben Mac-Nutzer bereits drei Tools zur Auswahl: "RapidWeaver", "iWeb" und "Sandvox".
